"The Final Decision"
Submitted by bill on 2 May 2007 - 8:19pmThe American Embassy in Seoul decided to delay our visa until that time that we can find a family member to sponsor us, or I provide them with a one-year signed U.S. contract, or show them an increase in assets & finances. It appears when I need family help most that they are once again in retrograde motion. I don't think that in one year I can become that much more economically viable, although I'll try to pinch pennies. Rest assure, I shall I ask the embassy what they wish the bottom line should read. I suppose what really causes disheartenment is the fact that I've been in this country four years and have known my better half for that time and even passed two years as a member of the revered institution which I find now limits my freedom of movement in more ways than one. Too, I understand that there are approximately twelve million illegals in the U.S. and I imagine that more than a few tax our general coffers. Thus, the fact that I am a citizen means exactly what I don't know.
"Departure"
Submitted by bill on 24 April 2007 - 8:34amApril 30 is my move-out day. I move house as the British say. I don't say I'm on the move, but I so say its a bit moving.
EPIK has become frustrating to me. Since the powers that be are passing every English language student to the next grade level in spite of his or her proficiency, I feel I can not be effective as an EFL teacher.
"A Story with a Compact and Pointed Plot"
Submitted by bill on 7 March 2007 - 2:56amMy short novel or long short story will arrive in Korea soon. Philadelphian publishers should have things wrapped up and in the mails by the week of 11-17 March. Stay tuned, as there is plan to run chapter installments on this Website. I'm in great expectation that the novella will be amusingly dissected. In advance, that you might not squander your precious time, I assure you that I am not a novelist but a novice. Notwithstanding, my effort may spur others with confidence, indeed, that they can do better. For I am reminded that "A man doesn't call a line crooked unless he has some idea of a straight line."
