This post is not exactly about Asia, per say, though the person in question has a mother has a Chinese name. The story is just too amazing not to write about.
There is a 10 year old kid in California who is finishing up his freshman year of college. He was 8 years old when he enrolled in his first college class - Algebra - and was tutoring his 19 and 20 year old classmates by the end of the semester.
The childy prodgy's name is Moshe Kai Cavalin and he is 4 feet 11 inches tall. When he sits in his chair, his feet don't even touch the floor yet.
At his current pace, Moshe will finish his 2 year degree by next year, after which he plans on entering a prestigious 4 year university. What does he want to study? Astrophysics, of course! He is especially interested in wormholes.
What were you doing when you were 10? The closest I ever got to wormholes was using my magnifying glass to try and burn some worms on my driveway, or maybe putting them on a hook and trying to catch some fish.
Although you would think that parents of such a child prodigy would pressure their kid, this doesn't seem to be the case. Moshe's college math teacher wanted to put him in a higher class but his parents said no - they didn't want to push him.
