This particular squid ink soup didn't taste good, but I had different squid ink soup later that tasted good. I think there was something wrong with this restaurant. It's on a side street in Naha, Okinawa. I can't remember the name of the restaurant.

I understand that squid ink soup has ammonium in it which is toxic. What does it taste like? Fishy? Anyway, it reminds me of melted black licorice candy. Do you have black tongue and lips after eatting it?

The soup above didn't taste good. Extremely strong... not fishy... hard to describe...
The homemade soup I had later was good though.
I didn't know it was toxic. I think people there consider it healthy, though I'm not sure...
