I'm in Okinawa at the moment and it has been difficult to find reliable wireless Internet access.
The Starbucks in Naha, Okinawa has a wireless signal. McDonalds in Okinawa City (across from MOS Burger) has a good wireless signal. That specific McDonalds is located in a supermarket so there is no smoking allowed (which is a good thing).
There is a coffee shop in Naha called One or Eight that has a good wireless connection, but there is a lot of cigarette smoke inside.
If you are lucky you may be able to find a guesthouse or hostel with a good wireless Internet signal.

there is also good wireless along the street of gate 2 and I heard they are going to expand it to the starbucks in mihama and also the whole music town in korinza
Okinawa City/Chatan Wireless
Wireless at a Starbucks in Okinawa would be great! Also, Park Avenue in Okinawa City has free wireless at the moment and there are several cafe's with sockets to plug in your laptop. I like one there called Simple.
