Leadership is a process in which a leader attempts to influence his or her followers to establish and accomplish a goal or goals. In order to accomplish the goal, the leader exercises his or her power to influence people. That power is exercised in earlier stages by motivating followers to get the job done and in later stages by rewarding or punishing those who do or do not perform to the level of expectation.www.answers.com

            Leadership is really accompanied with a huge responsibility. It entails a lot of responses to the needs of an individual concerning the aim of a certain group. When a certain individual conspire with another individual, they became partners. Then this partner will encourage another partner and another partner, until they are considered as a group. When it becomes a group, there will be an aim for every move or activity that they are going to do.

            For a group to go into one direction there must be a leader. A leader that will gauge his people into achieving one dream and one goal. Hence, it is a reality that problems always exist in every undertaking, but, a good leader can easily compose such  conflicts depending on how he/she carries it and taking into consideration both sides/party without being biased.

What does it take to make leadership successful or effective? Early students of leadership examined great leaders throughout history, attempting to find traits that they shared. Among personality traits that they found were determination, emotional stability, diplomacy, self-confidence, personal integrity, originality, and creativity. Intellectual abilities included judgmental ability, knowledge, and verbal communication ability. In addition, physical traits cannot be ignored, such as age, height, weight, and physical attractiveness.

All those characteristics mentioned above should be possessed by leader in order to achieve the goal of a certain society. But look what is happening now? It is not only in the national level but even in the local level.  Leaders would make ways to reach hand with the masses, but those reaching hands could only help those who can easily grasp the arms of the strong ones. What if you belong to the lowest profile of the masses, are you not given the chance to fulfill your dreams? You are forcedly moved forward into the pit of deplorable world.

This is what they say “The survival of the fittest”. The reality; that no matter what you do or how you do it, still, you cannot please everybody. You think that what you are doing is good for you or purposely for everybody but in the eyes of others, it is not yet enough.

Not enough probably because there will be more to prove or should be proven. Successful leadership goes beyond management of plans and tasks. It envisions the future and sets a new direction for the organization. Successful leaders mobilize all possible means and human resources; they inspire all members of the organization to support the new mission and execute it with enthusiasm. When an organization faces an uncertain environment, it demands strong leadership. True indeed. But take note, being a leader should be accompanied with love, folded with integrity, wrapped with trust  and handled with enthusiasm (LITE); again, there should be no bias decisions over the matter  nor unfair treatment of the problems.
