Chuseok Ssireum Wrestling Championship

Less-known than Taekwondo, Ssireum is traditional Korean wrestling. The sport has been around for thousands of years and shows up in paintings from as far back as 37 BC. Ssireum has similar rules as Japanese sumo, and the object is to force your opponent to touch the ground with any part of their body from the knee up.

Ssireum has two major tournaments during the lunar harvest festival (Chuseok) in the fall and in the lunar New Year (Seollal).
