PUBLIC SCHOOL Working Condition
=================================
Period of Employment: One year contract
Starting date: Sept. 1st, 2008 (Applicants must submit the applications by June 15th)
Teaching hours: Monday to Friday, 22 hours per week
Settlement allowance: KRW 300,000 (first year only), paid upon completion of your orientation training
Rural allowance: If teaching in a rural/fishing/remote area, base monthly salary is increased by KRW 100,000/month
Severance pay: You will be paid one month’s salary as a severance payment if you complete your one-year contract, in accordance with the Labor Standards Act of Korea
Airfare: Your flight to Korea will be paid for by the employer, the reimbursement will be paid once you arrive Korea; return airfare is provided upon completion of the contract
Housing: Single housing provided. If a teacher already has his or her own housing, a monthly rent subsidy of KRW 300,000 will be provided. Maintenance fees, utilities (gas, electricity, water), and other monthly expenses are the responsibility of the teacher
14 days(calendar days) paid vacation in summer and winter
** Usually, teachers get more than two weeks paid vacation per session
50% medical insurance, 100% industrial insurance, National pension plan
Working Schedule: 8:30am~4:30pm or 9:00am~5:00pm
Salary: 1.8 ~ 2.3 million won (approx. US$ 2,100 ~ 2,450 per month), payday is on the 25th day of each month, depending on level of experience:Lvl. 1 Teacher (2.3mil):
Ø 2 years of teaching experience with one of the followings:
- MA degree

To qualify for the E2 work visa and a teaching job as an ESL instructor, you must be an English native speakers, which means that you have to come from the United Kingdom, United States, Australia, Canada, New Zealand or South Africa. You must also have a University degree. You are not required to have teaching qualifications, although having them will mean that you are able to get better jobs.-Salary
Your salary will be in the range of 2,100,000 - 2,300,000 won a month, depending on your qualifications and experience. You will be paid monthly, either directly in cash to you or to your Korean bank account.-Severance Pay
At the completion of your 12-month contract, you will be entitled to a severance package of one months average salary. Some institute owners try to arrange 50 or even 51-week contracts in order to avoid this, but we refuse to refer any teachers to these.-Hours
You will be expected to teach about 30 hours a week. Most jobs are Mon to Friday.-Taxes
Your employer will take out Korean taxes from your salary before giving them to you.-Medical Insurance
Your employer will enroll you in the Korean Medical Insurance Union, which entitles you to the same rate for medical services and prescriptions as for Korean citizens (uninsured rates are much higher).-Housing
The employer will provide furnished rent-free accommodation for your time in Korea, usually close to your place of employment or if not then close to public transportation. You will be expected to pay the utilities such as gas, water, and electricity yourself or with your flatmates.-Vacations
You will be entitled to all Korean national holidays, and your employer is not allowed to deny you any of these. There usually come to about 13 days per year. In addition you will be given usually about 10 days paid vacation for the duration of your contract.-Type of Students
Usually from Kindergarten to Middle school students
Type1. Elementary - Middle school students : 2pm - 9pm (Your own schedule might start an hour later earlier or later, but it will still be only 7 hours)
Type2. Kindergarten - Elementary school students : 10am - 6pm (See above)-Size of Classes
