- Divide class into teams
- Set up bottles about 10 inches (25.4 cm) apart for form a triangle
- Ask a question to one team
- If they answer incorrectly, ask a question to the next team
- If they answer correctly, one member will get 2 chances to knock over the bottle with the ball
- 1 point for 1 ball, 2 points for 2 balls, 3 point for 3 balls
- When the student finishes bowling ask a question to the other team
- The team with the most points wins
- Keep score as in real bowling
- Use more bottles
- Use other activities such as tossing coins in a hat, etc.
I have used this game with first year middle school students and they enjoyed it. I am curious as to whether it would work for high school students so leave a comment below if you try it.
A big thanks to Steve for this EFL/ESL game!
