Anyone have an idea how to take a podcast or video, then put that on this site or another? I would like to make some podcasts for my students, perhaps starting off with reading the lessons and work from there. So, I have a usb headset with mic, but haven't yet figured out how to record sound, and then to place that sound on a blog so that students could access it.
Any ideas would be welcome.
Thank you

Thanks for your comment about what features we can add to the site to make it better. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.
We are looking into adding a podcast feature for the site and hopefully will have one up soon.
Thanks,

audio in lessons
Hi Lee,
a really easy program that you can use to record sound is called Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/) i don't know if your headset/mic will work with it, but all you usually need is a mic plugged into the computer you're using. you can then edit it any way you want. i'm not sure about podcasts (even though i have a mac!) but maybe someone else knows about that? but for sound editing audacity is the easiest. good luck!
lizm :)
Thanks
I will give it a try and see how it works at home. TY
I see there is a beginning page for audio, so, I will look forward to that expanding, :)

Update on the quest to use podcasts and videocasts
Well, I have figured out how to record sound, which is incredibly easy if you have Windows XP. And, thank you Liz for the suggestion of Audacity. While it lacks a little in how to do anything, by experimenting I have the basics down, which was to reformat the .WAV files to .mp3 files. Additionally I have been able to edit .mp3 files to cut out those items I didn't want. It is a very useful tool to me, thanks again.
Now I would like to be able to experiment posting sound to a website, with the end goal of having students go to my site and listen to audio and video, as well as provide links to documents that I create in google. Also, I would like them to be able to post as well. Any thoughts on how I should go about this? Thank you for your time,
Lee Lalka
