After achieving almost total eradication during the reign of the Taleban there has been a resurgence of opium farming in Afghanistan. Afghani opium now accounts for 87% of the world's opium supply, up from less then 2% in early 2001.

It's shocking to read about
It's shocking to read about this, passing from less than 2% to 87% just in few years is A LOT and I can't understand how this was possible considering that American troupes are there from 2001. What am I supposed to believe about this? That Americans go hand in hand with Afghans in developing an opium industry? You draw the conclusion.
