The pagoda at Boriam was said to have been established by the great Buddhist Wonhyo. However, it is likely that the pagoda was actually produced during the Goryeo Dynasty period. Though fairly small in size, standing only a little taller than a person, this little pagoda dates back many centuries. One peculiar unexplained phenomena associated with the pagoda at Boriam is that a compass would fail to point at the proper direction when placed on the stone base.
