What are some good things to do in Jeju?
Are there things to do even in the winter time or is it too cold and windy?

Welcome to Jeju! It's great!
I've only been here for three months, so I'm certainly no expert on Jeju Island. If you'd like to receive a great tour book and map (in English), send me your address and I'll take it over to the Tourist Center and ask them to mail those to you. It's the 2006 edition at the moment, but the 2007 edition should be out fairly soon. No, I'm not an employee of the Jeju Tourist Center, so please don't try to get a reward by reporting me! Rather than going into the extensive list of activities for winter, I'll leave that for others at the moment and return if that information doesn't appear very soon. If you also want information in Korean (as I know that many of you are bilingual or have Korean friends who can assist you), I'll also make that request.
Today is another fabulous sunny day on one of the world's most beautiful islands! It isn't windy, but it's a bit cool - definitely not cold! The spirits are always very warm and friendly on Jeju Island! Yes, Jeju is not a tropical paradise, but it is certainly a great place to work and/or visit! By the way, you might want to visit during the winter and then return during the other seasons. You are always welcome to visit Jeju Island!
A tip for those flying: Jeju Air (www.jejuair.net) generally offers lower rates than the competition, but the other airlines often offer discounted rates.
Thanks for the travel tip.
Thanks for the travel tip. :) I might be going to Jeju for two or three days for my winter break since I don't have the patience to go through bureaucratic procedures for visa issues and flying to other places is ridiculously expensive. May not be a tropical paradise, but I actually enjoy cold dreary weather. ;)
I definitely recommend
I definitely recommend flying to Jeju, if you get seasick to the slightest! That or, try to get some medicine before leaving.
If you do take the boat, make sure you get a ticket in a higher compartment, as they have some lower compartments that don't have a view, etc.
Jeju Air
I looked at the Jeju Air site and all the figures I get for flights to Jeju are at 65k Won. However, I looked up the Asiana Airlines site and the lowest estimate they give for Seoul/Gimpo Airport to Jeju is 58,700 Won.
The Airlines are Competing! Take advantage!
That's even better! Go with Asiana! It's also a more established airline. Usually, the JejuAir flights are a little lower - actually almost always. Yes, the other airlines are competitive, so take advantage of the competition. Enjoy your cheaper flight!
Places in Jeju
Any interesting places you'd reccomend in Jeju? How about motels and hotels? I'll be going there in the second week of January. I haven't bought the tickets yet since I'm still working out winter scheduling for winter English camp (although my co-teacher did say that the school will work around my desired schedule). :)
Jeju Hostels
I was able to find a hostel in Jeju that takes reservations in English. You can check here for info on youth hostels in Jeju
