Located north of Seoul, the $86 million, 68-acre fantasy English immersion camp represents one of the most unique teaching opportunities in the world. This education theme park, with its medieval castle walls, Victorian lampposts and red phone booths is an incredible opportunity for experience a "foreign" country without ever having to leave Korea.
Students pass through an immigration checkpoint where they get their English Camp passport stamped. A tram takes them up the main street to a hotel where there students check in for their stay. They even have shops, restaurants and a pub where students make purchases with special currency dispensed from English ATMs.
This English town is home to one Week and one day programs whereby students can join a variety of classes to practice their English, while being entertained through exciting class projects. Hence, our philosophy... learning through edu-tainment.
This town is a fully interactive place where guests of all ages can visit classrooms, street performances, and English facilities like the bank, post office, and restaurants. All the while speaking English of course! In a sense, we are helping them experience the Western way of life, without having them leave Korea. They are so fully immersed in English they don't even realize that they are learning!
There are several different content areas, one such example is 'Funstruction'. In these classes one teacher is teaching robotics...lady bug robots that is! The teacher guides the class through steps that produce a ladybug toy that vibrates and runs around. This class is designed for young learners, maybe grades 2-4. In Funstruction, we also teach them how robots are used in everyday life, giving them a handle of what may be coming in the future in terms of household appliances, toys, and educational materials.
One other unique point about our village....is that the village itself is an amazing work of art. We have buildings around here that would blow your mind. It is so well developed that any given day, we could be walking past a music video or commercial shoot. There has been a variety of singers, dancers, actors and of course dignitaries that have come to oogle over the many sites this place has to offer. It is amazing just to step out of the house every morning.
