MSG in the food!

I thought i'd left this behind when i left USA. Apparently in my small
town its common to add MSG to soup broth, side dishes... sauces...
everything but the rice!
As i'm allergic to MSG i'll get any reaction from stomachache and throw
up to feeling drunk/dizzy to the point where i can black out, and
definitely not aware of my actions or thinking logically.
I often try to ask if MSG is added.. sometimes the shop owners actually
listen, sometimes they just say 'no' so i'll buy the food.
MSG is found in Odeng and Omuk sold in supermarkets - sometimes
homemade versions won't have it.
Kimchi could be either way, sweet yellow radish might have it, fake
crab and fake ham meat (kimbab) have it...
At this point i'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. If i go out
to eat, i have to ask many questions and make a scene. Cooking at home
is fine but troublesome and not much variety or options.
My vegetarian friends order food online.. do you know any sites selling
MSG-free foods?
how can i ask to eat all-natural food... how should i ask for food
without MSG?
its been 3 months and food access is still an ongoing issue... what a
bummer! i wish just one person in my hometown spoke english and korean
to help me with such shopping and living concerns.

MSG

I've noticed that some packages in the grocery store have a note that says "MSG" and some other things in Korean. Perhaps those are MSG-free foods? If you can't read them, how about writing down what they say and asking your coteacher to translate?
