The most well-known beach on Namhae island, the relatively small stretch of soft sandy coast known as Sangju Beach is a popular destination among Namhae locals and domestic tourists for relaxation. The area in Sangju boasts spectacular natural scenery with the pinaccles of Geumsan overlooking the township, green forested mountainsides, and a view of the tiny, uninhabited islands in the sea, which all are part of the greater Hallyeo Maritime National Park.
