Graduate School

I had to take out just under 50 grand for graduate school. Luckily, though, I consolidated my loans when the rates were low and have reasonable monthy payments.

Variable Interest Rates

Although I borrowed much less money, I wish I had also consolidated since the interest rates skyrocketed in 2005. The original interest rate on my loan was barely above 3% and in just a couple of years it has jumped to 7.22%. I have another friend back in California who didn't consolidate either. She owes over $50K and her interest rate is similar to mine. What a ripoff!
