This is a great teaching opportunity in a school that was established in 1906. It is considered the best high school in the province and is reputed to have some of the best teachers in China.

GuiYang is located in GuiZhou province at an elevation of 3,000 feet in the center of the province. The climate is mild throughout the year and the area offers amazing opportunities for hiking and exploring.

Three hours from GiuYang is the Huannuoshu waterfall, one of the largest in China, and the area is full of caves and beautiful mountain valleys.

Once know as the impoverished capital of Guizhou province, Guiyang is now on the nationwide quest for economic prosperity. The city offers a great perspective of old and new China, though predominant views and architecture follow the legacy of old.

The schools all have a basic curriculum; this includes listening, writing, speaking and reading. You are provided with textbooks, workbooks and teacher's manuals to help and there are additional resources available to assist you to plan your classes.

Some schools also offer IELTS training which is training for the International English Language Testing System. IELTS is a comprehensive test of English language proficiency designed to assess the ability of non-native speakers of English who intend to study or train in the medium of English. This is similar to the TOEFL exam which is the Test of English as a Foreign Language. Minimum scores on these exams are required to attend post-secondary in English speaking countries so high school students are very motivated to prepare and score well on these exams.
