Busan or Pusan, however you want to spell
it, is one of the most beautiful cities in South Korea. Rugged coast,
beautiful beaches, mountains, the sea, warm climate and great attractions make
this a great destination to live and work in South Korea.
Teachers with a B.A. start at 1.8 million won per month (tax free except
for Canadians), with a KRW 300,000 signing bonus, and free furnished single
housing. Teachers with a 100 hour TESL/TEFL certification, a B.Ed, a teaching
license or a Master’s Degree start at 2.0 million won per month, and teachers
with the above qualifications and two years of teaching experience start at 2.3
million won per month. Teachers placed in rural locations are eligible for an
additional KRW 100,000 per month. Free airport pick up is
included. One way airfare is reimbursed and the school will purchase you
a ticket home upon the successful completion of your contract. Fifty percent of
medical insurance is paid by the Provincial or Metropolitan Office of
Education. Foreign teachers work with Korean co-teachers. The teaching hours
are only 22 hours per week, although teachers are required to be at school from
9 to 5. Your evenings are always free. Two weeks of paid vacation in addition
to national holidays is also included.
