Win a Free Plane Ticket in South Korea...No Joke!!

Want a free round-trip plane or train ticket within South Korea?

In order to promote posting on the forums we are giving away a free roundtrip domestic plane or train ticket FROM ANYWHERE in South Korea TO ANYWHERE in South Korea.

The rules are simple. Every time you post in the forums on the forums we will write your username on a piece of paper and drop it in a box.

On January 1, 2007 we will have an EPIK Teacher in Jeju do the honors of selecting a piece of paper from the box. We will contact the selected user via the private messaging system on the site and tell them they won, then announce the winner on the website.

Then, the winner will send us their name as written on their passport and tell us when and where they want to go in Korea. We will pay for the ticket and an electronic ticket will be issued. If a paper ticket is required, we will have the ticket sent to an address provided by the winner.

All FORUM posts currently online will count.

Good luck!

Current Political Climate in Korean Peninsula

How does or how will the current U.S. policy towards North Korea impact the recruitment of teachers to South Korea?  More specifically, does the current contentious political climate and the testing of nuclear weapons in North Korea in any way discourage English teachers from considering South Korea over other Asian countries?

Travel restrictions

The current U.S. policy towards North Korea means that www.teachenglishinasia.net will not buy you a ticket to go there.

But seriously, the political climate is not contentious here in South Korea.  The media reports that make it sound like a war is going to break out are contentious.  The majority of people in South Korea are sympathetic to North Korea and both north and south want to reunify but not at the cost of war.  When I chose to come to South Korea, the North Korean nuclear programme was not amongst my considerations.  I think many people choose to go to other Asian countries because they hear more about them.  It seems Korea is only ever in international news when there is a story about North Korea.

And the winner for the free plane ticket is....

We have notified the winner and will announce who it is after they claim their prize.
